everything happens for a reason, although I can't really think of a reason why this could have happened...

Just the drunk drivers. Too bad we can't have the same law on DUI as El Salvador...just look how many innocent lives they're saving by having the laws they have on the books.

It would save us a LOT of innocent lives, and definitely be a serious deterrent to people who think they're a better driver while impaired.

I am glad the people he hit are ok but you guys are brutal hoping he dies.
When it's your best friend that's killed by an eight time drunk driver, and he gets off on a technicality...

...you MIGHT begin to feel differently about it.

Or maybe not.

We had 2 new subies heh. We both had 07 sti's. As of now hubby wants me to get the 08 but we will see what happends. I also have the 07 honda civic but after what the cops said I don't want to drive it heh. But doesn't really matter right now cus I can't shift the car for up to 2 months and don't have an automatic.

No one was killed here, that is a different situation. Not all drunk drivers kill people or deserve to die imo. I am sorry you lost a friend that way. I watched one of my best friends be shot in the back and it the .22 punctured his lung after he beatr someone up that came to his house trying to start crap. The kid that shot Franky did 3-4 yrs.....

Anyways I like to think people can live and learn. God forbid you ever make a stupid mistake. btw I have never driven under the influence of alcohol and I never will. I am sure most people reading this thread cannot say the same

So we should smash this mother ****er's face in just like he did to gibz then huh...

maybe throw a few thousand pounds of steel at him and make him think he's about to die...maybe that'll make him realize his "mistake"

I just have to say through all of this thank god JOEBOBBUCKET followed us home that night cus I don't think anyone would have known we were stuck down there.

This whole thing could have been a lot worse and more cars involved. The facts are in the end we all were very lucky.

I'd like to thank all those who replied here today. The Subaru community here is wonderful, everyone like family. I know there are drunks out there causing accidents everywhere and we aren't the only ones. I never knew the feeling till now. My wife walked away with alot of pain, I'm worried about her shoulder and kidneys. I, myself also walked away with much pain and stiffness. We both are having such a hard time doing simple things around the house, though we will be better after some time. We are so lucky to be alive.

My first initial thought after the accident was OMG noone can see us because we were below the freeway line of sight down in the bushes and a huge tree engulfing us. I'm glad Dan was there. I also want to thank all our close friends from I-club with all the phone calls and whatnot hoping us to get better and offering any help that we may need to get through this.

When we started this thread we never expected this many people to chime in, but this has showed us what the community here is all about. Once again thank you all! Last but not least, I was looking forward to the Hammy meet, but I guess there's next year. I doubt I'll be able to drive by that time and my wife won't be able to drive for at least two months..
