No, you need to buy in the next year or 2 that way when 5years from now comes, and your house that was cheap to buy starts to appreciate, you make the $$.

My job/salary is secure until we renegotiate our contract with the State next June. By law our program has to exist but the Governators' cronies I'm sure want to relocate us to Sacramento in order to save about $100k per year in our $4million/year budget. Unless the economy is totally crap and there's absolutely no prospects, I'm in no way trying to figure out the commute from the East Bay to Sac.

I'm having a hell of a time finding a good job. I picked a harsh time to graduate, unfortunately. I could probably get some random job, but I'm looking to begin my career, which is a little more difficult. Luckily I have no major bills and I'm not in debt, so I'm okay for now. But no income and now spending money is very

Since I was a graphic designer and my job relies on marketing/advertising agencies to be flooded with work. In order for them to be busy, people have to have money to buy goods and services, which would require advertising to the masses. So...if the economy's been sucking for the past several years and hasn't been the same since the dot com bubble burst, it was harder to find something when I got out of school in 05. I must've had 3-4 different jobs and did about a year of freelancing (well, last year was the only time I did freelancing) since graduation. I still can't afford to move out, but I'm working on a regular basis now (permanent job FTW). So I'm sorta content about not staring at my phone or checking my e-mail every other minute to see if a recruiter returned my calls and emails.

I'm thankful I still have my job, at least my department shows profit...much lessening the chance of being cut down or off.

Bought a house in February...put 10% down, but if prices continue declining at their current rate, I'll be underwater by the end of this year! I lost $18K in value this past month
still, I am thankful I can complain about that as a problem

The fact of the matter is that we are all hurt by the economy in one way or another; whether we notice it or not. The dollar is weak, making it more expensive to buy imported goods, domestic goods are not immune either as the cost of materials go up as the value of the dollar goes down. The price of everything will go up.

Unemployment rising means more folks going without health care. If they get hurt, the hospital will treat them anyways. Those of us who have health care will pay more as the costs are shifted. Employers will give less frequent and smaller raises.

Crime rate will go up with unemployment. What your dollar buys will go down.

We are in stagflation. It's gonna suck a while.

its hurting me. people don't buy cars just because they want one anymore. people who are buying cars today is because they NEED a car. some just got totaled or some got stolen.
