And just for my curiosity have you ever rallied the ROTAS or are they for groomed, paved tracks only for your race cars?

They were scratched up a lot, but they were ALL intact except the first wheel to hit.
That is a testament to their strength.

I don't take it easy on the Forester XT...that's why we have a Primitive skidplate and rear diff guard on it...as we bottomed out and extended the travel of our suspension over the rutted holes and water bar crossings at ~50 mph...
Rota SDR's that replaced our Prodrive wheels held up to the abuse with no issues.
We're going on our second Laughlin Adventure Rally, which last year took us INTO the Grand Canyon...no problems there, either. Washboard roads at speeds ~85mph...

rota also makes these 17 x 8.5 wheels... and people love 'em on the track... put some nice PHAT rubbers on 'em... 245s... some even do 255s... those tires would look pretty stretched on the stock 17 x 8's i would gather.
but ya... if u ever go to the track and need some beaters... hit me up.

If rota decides to make a 17x9 wheel id have no issues runnin them on my evo. However, since they dont at the moment, the 5-zigens will do. OH KNOEZ CAST WHEELS. Buying an $800 set of rims that can be beat on is much smarter choice than a set of $3000 volks or BBS that need to be babied. Most track guys dont even bother with them, its only the posers/hardparkers that spend the big bucks on em so they can take mad tyte pics at funny angles in parking garages and get mad eprops on internet forums. Those are the same guys who will throw s-techs on their evo/sti and think it "handlez on railz y0". S-techs and volks, gotta love that combo
"sick volks bro!"

bottom line-you like expensive forged rims? More power to ya. Its your money to spend. If you want affordable functional rims, nothing wrong with rotas, so dont be so quick to bash

The only broken rotas I have ever seen were when they first hit the honduh market. That was YEARS ago and it was obviously a first-run quality control issue, not a design issue. From then until now im sure its only gotten 10fold better. I have yet to see a single thread on any of the forums I post on about bent/broken rotas (honduh-tech, iwsti, ****-****, evoM, norcalevo, socalevo, here). Just lots of haters about "fake rims". As for them not being "forged". There are a TON of race cahhh drivers that dont roll on forged rims either. the amount of 5-zigen f10nr-C (c is for cast). at the track is astonishing

Just so you know, the people that I know that own "volks" track all day long and would rather burn up a set of tires than take pictures of them.
