ya i agree w/ ya.

but it would be pretty expensive... i do change wheels @ alot because rota keeps making so many designs for subarus spcifically.... damn them!

since i'm not a big baller daddy i just try to ball w/in my budget... and rotas look pretty good and they are priced for my budget in mind.... and they come in so many colors and sizes... its no brainer really.

cuz i would love it BBS made 18 x 8s, 18 x 8.5s for STIs for the ones who like to fill in the wheel well... they also make 17 x 8/7.5 application for their winter needs.

if you ever feel like stepping down to my level... i'll hook ya up w/ a nice pair of these to try on the street or beat on the track.

piece!

oh i forgot to mentions...

rota also makes these 17 x 8.5 wheels... and people love 'em on the track... put some nice PHAT rubbers on 'em... 245s... some even do 255s... those tires would look pretty stretched on the stock 17 x 8's i would gather.

but ya... if u ever go to the track and need some beaters... hit me up.

I am not big baller either, and hence the reason why I am leaving my wheels stock until I can afford some real Type RA's. Unfortunately I have to get my FP green under the hood first.

My point is I know you deal ROTAS but you just swaped out very nice rims that are STRONG (potholes man) for rims that look nice but are not forged and are made to a lesser spec. You only went 235's, I rawk 235's on my 17X8's. I don't want to junk all over your thread, your car is nice, just being a fellow STi owner it pains me when people go for looks over function, but that is just me and priorities/tastes are different for everyone.

im sure he'll be @ 255's soon enough.

think aobut this one though, i'm sure he bought the car to display his product line....how would keeping the stock BBS's help in anyway?

you really aren't making any sense

try thinking business minded instead of close minded for just 1 second.

ohh and potholes? lol...i've had rotas for 4 years and I have yet to bend one. I wish I could say the same about a coworkers volks

I understand it is a business thing, but not a function thing. I already stated that, sorry if it is not making sense for you. Forged is forged is forged I don't care what brand. If being close minded is function over all that I guess I am close minded. I am not trying to talk ish and start stuff, so if I came off that way I apologize. I stated my opinion about the wheels and I will be done with that. We can all agree it's a great car he has and I can't wait to see the progression!

stop posting in the thread.

rotas are pretty strong man. i assume you have never owned a set so I don't see why you are commenting about them???

oh and just because a wheel is forged it doesn't mean it will hold up to everything. here a picture of my forged wheel

I love how people say to stop posting. How bout you stop posting, this is a public forum meant for public opion. Post your stuff and expect reactions from both sides of the fence. I wasn't talking ish, just stating my opinion. Stop sack riding and grow up.

I never said forged would withstand x amount of abuse, I said forged is better than not. Stop putting words into my mouth.

I have seen many Rotas, but i wasn't going to post anything of my experiece with them. I have seen sheared (yes broken) Rotas where I have yet to see a forged BBS do the same. It's funny how if one person doesn't say "Oh I absolutely love them" then you all bandwagon up.

I said I was going to quit commenting but when someone TELLS me to stop it does intice me to post again

Sorry Subydude, I am really quiting now.

Not that it bares a whole lot of relevence to this thread but thought I would throw this out there,

We have used nothing but Rota wheels on all of the race cars we have supported over the last couple of years (if you looked in the rig this weekend we had in excess of 8 sets of them if you include the couple of sets for the Honda's in HC4). To date we have never had a rim related issue.

Oh wanted to add something else too..

Chuck Norris doesn't need rims, but if he did he would use Rota's!

This shows ME how ignorant you really are.

I was forced to hit a retaining wall at ~50mph while avoiding a t-bone collision with a girl in her Jeep Wrangler...

All four wheels went over that retaining wall, and only ONE wheel (that impacted first) had significant damage. The rest were completely intact and holding air, even after the rollover.

They were scratched up a lot, but they were ALL intact except the first wheel to hit.

That is a testament to their strength.
