G35X is cool...AWD and all.
If you want american...03-04 SVT Cobra is pretty sick. With exhaust and intake you can pull on Z06 Vetts on the freeway. Those things are fast!!! I think if you were to change the Supercharger pully and some other small things...you can be running low 11's. Not too bad.

Hold up, have you driven the new GTO? Not only does it have more reliable power than the classic GTO, but it also handles better, gets better gas mileage, more usable space and a nice interior. I don't agree with you, I think the GTO is a more than adequate successor if you can deal with the bland exterior (sleeper if you ask me).

SVT : 390 hp @ 6,000 rpm / 390 lb.-ft. @ 3,500 rpm
GTO: 350 hp / 365 lb.-ft.
Both look sweet, and I am sure are good enough cars...hell...Just buy them both!!

Here's why I do think the GTO is not an adequate successor to the old classic GTO. It lacks the heritage and ancestry. That muscular body, those famous headlights, that classic appeal that is the GTO. Pontiac in this case, took the Holden Monaro (which isn't a bad car! I like it!), and slapped a bunch of badges on it saying it's a Pontiac and it's a GTO. I truly believe the reason why they named it the GTO is because of marketing and sales tactics. People want something that relates to the GTO or has the name of the once majestic GTO. It's as simple as that. It's a marketing plot to drive sales!
I'm sorry to say, but this is a poor replacement. It has nothing to do with the real classic GTO if not, any similarities. Also, I know it's truly a Holden Monaro with a few new badges. I truly think they should've just left the name to be the Monaro and just bring it over to the states. That way it stays authentic and truly a car of its own-a Monaro. Not all this GTO naming fiasco. It's their way of making money, I know. Whatever it takes to make more money for the company is what matters most. However to the car enthusiast that I am, this sucks! I expected much more.

there ISNT a replacement for a impreza. i was trying to find a new (used, but new for me) car and i wanted rwd too. i drove a bunch of different cars the only few that were close to as fun as a wrx were a ae86 and rx7s 2nd and 3rd gen.
ill say G35 is a very nice car though i drove my dads (automatic) but it was still cool.
