#1. A Forester XT will smoke this thing off the line...
#2. Let's see how long you can really sit in the back seat of one of these cars.
RX-8?
#1. A Forester XT will smoke this thing along Hwy. 1 (and the CHP to boot)
#2. This DOES seat 4 comfortably.

Mini?
#1. RWD?
#2. Four people comfortably?

my top pics for under 40k the g35 sedan or coupe, the sedan is probably more comfortable, or the is300 ... either is a great car, you may find the is300 to be a bit underpowered though ... well a 3 series would also fit in the category but those are very underpowered; rx-8's, cant even call them underpowered, they're just slow (no offense to SJT, he's a ricer, hahha) you could pick up an r32 skyline, nice power, wont be very high on the looks scale, seats 4 as well; c class, also underpowered ... eh, theres probably more, but i just had a brain fart
RX-8 = teh slow & teh hawtness.
I ain't gonna deny it! It's slow but damn if it doesn't get more looks than ANY other car on the road under $100,000...
I was even thinkin that should go on my license plate... "NCKBRKR" or "WHPLASH"

What do you mean by that? care to elaborate a lil?
Most the cars mentioned in this thread are family sedans and the power to weight ratio ain't going to be all that impressive (power potential wise), when comparing with WRX/STi/EVOs. But they are by no mean underpowered.
R32 Skyline? hahaha just about every Skylines are not cost effective to keep, unless you got money to blow.
