Which tires are good and which should I stay away from?
Hey, I was just wondering which tires and/or brands you guys would recommend. The type of driving im looking to do is relatively average. Mostly highway and some city. Im not going to race them or abuse them in anyway. The size should be either 205/45/16 or 205/55/16. Thanks for your help, Leor.

In the original 16" size, you should look at:
Bridgestone Turanza LS-V - Smoothness over cornering
BF Goodrich G-Force KDWS - Ultra high performance all season
Bridgesone Potenza RE950 - High perfornance all season
Continental Exreme Contact - Ultra high performance all season
Dunlop Sport 5000 - Ultra high performance all season
Michelin Pilot Sport AS - Ultra high performance all season, wow
Yokahama AVS DB S2 - Ultra high performance all season
In the 225 upgrade:
Bridgestone Turanza LS-V - Smoothness over cornering
BF Goodrich G-Force KDWS - Ultra high performance all season
Bridgesone Potenza RE950 - High perfornance all season
Continental Exreme Contact - Ultra high performance all season
Dunlop Sport 5000 - Ultra high performance all season
Michelin Pilot Sport AS - Ultra high performance all season, wow
Sumitomo HTR+ - Ultra high performance all season
Yokahama AVS DB S2 - Ultra high performance all season
These are all 'all season' tires that offer varying levels of performance and smoothness. They all also meet or exceed a 'V' speed rating - a requirement on your WRX. Go the the 'tires' section of our website (www.tirerack.com) and look at 'survey results.' This should be a good help in making your decision.
These are my choices - but there are many more available.

The Pirellis (I believe they were P6000) I had were great, but i wore them out after only 20,000 miles...hard cornering and stuff. excellent performance tires, but it sucked in the snow and rain.
The replacement Continentals I installed was better in the snow and rain, but "screechy" during cornering on dry roads.

you might also want to...
tell us where you live. If in the northeast, or places where snow is a concern, then you should look for something with an M+S rating as well. That will save you the hassle of getting dedicated snow tires, and summer tires...
If you live in a place with a warm climate, things may be a little different. Then, ULTRA High Perf. tires might be in order. Michelin Pilots are great, but are expensive.
Personally, I went with the Dunlop Sport 5000's, and they seem to be meeting my needs fairly well. Of course, it stopped snowing when I got them, but, they seem to do well in the rain.
Check tirerack for the comparisons of different tires, for sure. Then decide what you would like.
