Best Phone Call EVER!
So as I'm working today I receive a call at the shop, here is how it goes:
ME: LIC Motorsports this is Noah
CALLER: Yeah, I have a 06 2.5i and I have a STi intake manifold and some other custom piping I need done on it and how much would all that cost installed.
ME: The 2.5i is a non turbo subaru and I don't see what benefit you would gain from the STi manifold other than its red; sorry but we would not do that install here at LIC Motorsports.
CALLER: Wait, you can do custom roll cages but you can't.....Nevermind F-you....click

keep in mind that the sti intake manifold would not just be a swap over...I'm not a 100% on this but I think even the bolt holes are different and it might not work at all. I know for a fact it would need major modifications even if it could be modded to work.
but why even do this at all? there would be literally zero to gain....even if it did work. And at what expense for that "look"? why not just paint the 2.5i stock one Red if thats what one is going for?

it gets better...I got another call today while im working on a customers car. Car came in for a 60k that is acutally at 80k (so its way overdue).
I advise customer she has ZERO front brake pads and she needs them replaced (literally metal backing plate to rotor), it will cost X. She says let me call you back.
Calls me back and says well I feel like I should negotiate your pricing. NEGOTIATE my pricing? WTF is wrong with people.
So i laid it out simply, when you go to your favorite restaurant or even McDonalds...do you order your food only to say Mr. McDonald's I dont want to pay $0.99, how about $0.59.....its simple THEY SAY find the other $0.40 or you dont get your food.
I dont get people and why they try to beat down mechanics on pricing. And when they are "price shopping" they never and I mean never are comparing apples to apples.
