Guess I should go back in and ask wtf is going on. I need to install a new steering wheel but I've been waiting for them to fix this passenger bag just so they don't question anything.
My airbag light was on from the steering wheel and there was no issue installing my recall airbag

Did mine a while back. At least 8 month ago or something. Took like 30 minutes, had to remove my defi control box. The tech was like "Jesus Son, so many mods" LOL

Just scheduled my appointment on Monday at Stevens Creek. Soonest they could do the airbag was June 13th. They also asked if I wanted to do the air pump relay at the same time or sooner. I opted for both at the same time.

They plan to have my car for 3 days.

Maybe they're playing it safe if they get overbooked?

I'm also planning to drop it off at pretty much the end of the day on the 13th.

They're going to give me a loaner so I don't really care how long they have it.

I might even be out of town and won't be able to pick it up in 3 days.

I contacted Subaru of America directly about contacting local dealerships and not getting any replies back and they said it's pretty much I'd have to contact a local Subaru dealership to get my car's airbag recall fixed. At this point, what can I do?

How have you been trying to contact them? I just walked in and made an appointment. I spent more time parking than I spent making the appointment.

Finally got mine fixed.

Last year I got the recall letter, which said wait for another letter when they have the airbags to replace it in stock.
Waited months. Eventually called a local dealer, who said they did not have inventory of the parts and to call back in a month. This repeated a few times.

I gave up and life got busy. 6 months later I call and they have appointments 3 months out.

Wait until appointment, fix takes 5 days because "the tech is busy and got sick"

They said the techs are trained specifically for this and at each dealer there is only one person trained. They are the only one who can do it and that's all that person does now. That's why it takes so long.

Just ran into a guy at Mann the other day who said they told him 3-5 days and at least 2 months before they'd get him in.

I was wondering if I bought my car with an aftermarket steering wheel, would Subaru still do the passenger air bag replacement? Just wondering as I've never come across this before.

Dropped off my car today at Capitol Subaru. They're working with the Enterprise next door to supply people with temp vehicles for the 5-7 days. Driving a 2015 Camry until it's done. :[
