+1

They refused to put tires on my Civic because it has 15" wheels (stock is 14")

Seriously? It was the Sand City one? My mom went there a couple times for tires on her BMW but they didn't hassle her. The guy did seem like a d-bag though and I knew more about tires than he did (If we're thinking of the same guy)

I've never bought tires at Costco because they never have what I want, but their price does include road hazard insurance, which other places are charging $25 a tire for.

IMO,WTF should he care what you and any other customer want on their cars? What a customer wants should be what a customer gets.
It's a freakin' sale for you,Costco! You just lost a sale! Their loss. Stupid.

I bought 4 tires at the Foster City Costco several years ago. They used a defective tire and for reasons I don't understand, mounted it anyway. The tire wouldn't balance so I have no idea why they thought they could get away with it.

Very bad experience. I will never go back. Since then, I've used TireRack/Nielsen in Belmont or Big-O in San Mateo. Both have been very fair to me.

Obviously you don't have to be a genius to work at a Costco...

What a dumbass!! I could understand him suggesting another tire if you wanted to go with something unsafe, but he needed to STFU and say "Ok sir, let me get that started for you"

Perfect example of all the idiot moron's in this world today.

Now that I think about it, I remember getting a bit of a douche attitude from a guy at the Costco Tire Dept regarding snow tires for my Jetta. It was last winter and I figured they'd have something even if they had to order it. I couldn't even get prices from him because according to him "even with snow tires I'd need chains since the car is FWD." Ok that's nice, give me a price dick!!

Sometimes it seems like the only requirement to work in their tire dept is to be able to pass a drug test. I had bad experience there too. Guy was an expert on everything and a whale sized douche. I will never buy tires there.

I get my tires at Big-O. They are family operated down in So. Cal. One brother works in Camarillo and the other works in Thousand Oaks office. Both are always nice, and they give me an 15% discount on a set of tires.

I used to work for Costco. The job blew pretty hard. I'm sure the douchyness attitude from the people working in the tire department comes from inexperience. Like someone already high-lighted above they don't work on commission and they are told which tires to recommend.

I'm a little dumbfounded at the fact that the employee kept arguing with you about the tire you were looking for. Bridgestone tires are ridiculously overpriced though. Have you ever considered Yokohama or Hankook tires?! Both manufacture high performance tires that last a long time. Have you heard of Nexus? They make pretty inexpensive tires that with alignment last a pretty freaking long time. If you decide to stick with the Bridgestones then I wish you good luck finding them. But, you should consider going with one of the other companies I mentioned all are good and are more durable than Bridgestones. I say this because I've had all of them at one point in time on my car. Good luck to you

Yeah bridgestones are way overpriced...star specs and rs3s are both cheapr than 760s and are waaay more track capable..

I wouldn't run 760s on a track personally

i was going with the 760's because they were $500. hankooks were $550. i started searching again and there are some yokohama for 500 or bfgoodrich g forces for 500.
I just want a tire that will work well in the summer and when it rains.
