Bad Service experience
I would like to present my recent service experience for feedback.
I have a Impreza 2.5RS 2002 with 33,000 miles on it. I have a low thumping noise from the rear of the car most noticable at 15-20mph. Took it to the dealer, they said that the rear disks had warped and needed to be changed. They also said it was not covered under warranty $130. This did not cure the problem so took the car back, this time they said the tracking was out on the rear of the car and had caused damage to the rear ties. It would need re-alignment and new tires total $280 also not covered under warranty. I was told that I must have driven over some major potholes and caused the mis-alignment, this is not the case. I do not see why I should pay for the damage to the tires caused by an alignment problem on a car still under warranty. We are considering buying another Subaru in 4-5 months and this has dented my confidence in the service and the cars.
Am I being unreasonable, please advise.

It seems that all car manufactures have a percentage of mechanics? who misdiagnois problems that cause owners to return cars for"did not solve" the problem. Maybe it's time for dealers to reimburse owners for parts and or labor for their misdiagnois? Time after time I read; I spent 50-1000 dollars and same problem ocurred as I drove from the dealer to home. This kind of situation is redicules (spelling?). Second opinions are a pain but, in some cases are the only way to go unless dealers get with a consenious customer satisfaction attitude. eddie

yeah i took my car to BIG VALLEY SUBARU to have the car buffed out after i bought it in june. and the car came out with more scratches then it went in with. The service manage is a total dick. he was very disrespectful and it seemed like he really didnt care what i was telling him. I would have to say that i will never do business with BIG VALLEY SUBARU again and i dont recomend anyone to ever go to BIG VALLEY SUBARU.
