meh. i'm so lazy i'm gonna take my truck to a quick lube for that stuff. and i don't even need to put the damn thing up on ramps to get to the filter.

i used to take my wrx to the walmart in roseville near the automall. they did a good job, were pretty fast, and always rang up mobil 1 as regular mobil so it was like $19.95. i always watched to make sure it was mobil 1 like i asked for. i asked the manager about it, he said it's entered into the system wrong and it's just easier for them to under-charge than it is to fix the error.

I love going to the drive thru chevron place on Madison and Fair Oaks. Very easy for me, because I am lazy, plus I don’t leave my car so I can watch everything they do.

They do try and sell you everything under the sun, but all I have to do is say no once and they smile and say OK. Plus they give me hot chocolate or bottle water

Oh and the last time my dip stick broke off in the poor kids hand and he freaked out. He was so sorry and couldn’t stop apologizing (very common defect on my Nissan, so I knew it wasn’t his fault) and he gave me a new dip stick for free and told me if it was going to cost to get the rest of it removed to call him and he would bring in his tools from home and do it for me (they don’t do repair work there.) That’s what I have Mr. Xevious for, but it is things like that, that make it nice going there.

oil changes are cake! Takes less than 30 minutes tops...just make sure your oil pressure is down before you start or you'll make a mess! Oh, and don't be a bad a$$ and dump your oil down the sewer...

I was feeling lazy so I took my WRX to the Chevron place last time, they were very courteous and did try to sell you everything, good service overall. My only gripe is that it cost me $70 w/synthetic. I'll be changing my own oil from now on.

It's $90 for the labor on the benzo. Filter and oil are extra.

1st off, I don't have the tools (lift, wrench, sockets), 2nd I don't have a place that's off the street to do it, 3rd I was lazy, 4th I was too busy with your mom.

Where can I pick up replacement drain plug washers (I understand you're supposed to replace those at every oil change).

Please tell me it was not a three way incest fest with your mom again. That is just plain wrong...

FWIW, on the oil change thing. I would always go to a shop if you are under warranty and have any realistic expectation of warranty work should something go wrong in the future. Just buying oil and a filter is not enough proof that the change was actually done. My brother lost in court when Chrysler denied the warranty on his Jeep when he did 2 early changes himself. The rest were done at the dealer but since he could not prove that the change was done he was found to have exceeded the change interval and the warranty was denied...

I just did my oil on the WRX without taking the plastic guard off, man it made a mess, got all over me, it sucked, but it should be easier next time.
