I thought STis came with this key? Guess I was wrong. Do they come with the same looking key as the WRX then?

I definitely like the feel of the STi key over the WRX key, looks cooler too.

Not according to consumer research - the super small details are what decide purchases for lots of people, like the way the key on an Audi flips open like a switchblade or the thickness and feel of the steering wheel. Subaru's crappy keys/fobs/interior materials lead to all those car reviewers out there to say that Subarus feel "cheap."

Subaru Keys > Nissan Keys

Luckily they have the same pattern so you can cut a nissan key on a subaru template

STi key on a 350Z ftw

that key blank can be cut at any B&M store. We cut keys here at my work, and we can cut it.

QFT...I almost bought a MSP6 just because of the key fob, the material the interior was made of and that fact that the sound system came from bose, even though I was going to swap the speakers anyway...

If you read my post, I said it's not big deal..

Yeah I LOVE the bmw key fobs..or any luxury car key fob, they have much more in it and more functions...like rolling your windows down by holding onto the unlock button. Man i would love to have that since it's hot and it's nice having that option. I'm sure it's possible to DIY but it's probably a pain. then again my car isn't a luxury car and was never meant to be. If I wanted more convenience I would've opted for a G35 or whtaever.

My Clifford alarm has a turbo timer built into it, so I can turn it on (not start) remotely, which allows me to just open my driver's door and use the window switches without getting into the car.

close enough for me.

Now that I've had a REALLY good laugh about all the mis-information and rumors, let me clarify things a little.

1. The key has a titanium HEAD ONLY...the rest of the key is a standard key blank.
2. I have those keys in stock, and we cut them just fine with our specialized key machine here at the dealership. We only cut what we sell, however.
3. The STi key that you want WILL work on your car...sort of. The immobilizer chip in your key merely needs to be in close proximity (read: on the same keychain CLOSE to the STi key) to the ignition switch in order to work. I've heard of a couple of people doing that...and from what I heard, it worked.

Hope this helps clear things up a bit.

PS - while rallysportdirect is pricing those ~29, I know of dealerships which sell them for ~23.xx or thereabouts, and keep them in stock, and will cut them for free with purchase.

but I have no idea where I can go to get it done right. I'm sure as hell not going to Ace or Homedepot as they couldn't even cut my house key probably because I have to do some weird wiggle to get it to unlock.

If anyone have connections or just know where to go to get it done, I greeeeatly appreciate it! Thanks

This is a genuine Subaru key blank made from a titanium alloy. This makes your key strong and light weight. This key needs to be cut by an experienced key-maker. Some key-makers are not able to cut titanium properly.
i have one. and no, its not light weight. its pretty heavy actually.

my friend's 350z does that and i'm so jealous. u have no idea how convenient it is. i mean like when i go to my car with my gf, she won't get in until i turn on the car and roll down the windows because it's really like an oven in there. it's unbearable. everytime...or she waits for me to turn on the car before she closes the door. u know what i mean?

I have, it hurts like a *****.
I've slammed my leg into the side of a couch with them in my pocket. Left a few cuts on my leg... haha
