Wink 2 Cuts, a Burn, & 3hrs Later.....Today was/WILL BE a Good Day!!

.....I finally finished cooking a meal fit for a..........

LAKER ......of course!!?

Seriously, I don't have much time cuz I'm supposed to be getting cleaned up (more on that later)

Anyways, I "offered" (not really) to cook dinner for a friend tonight. It wasn't supposed to go down until this weekend, but I have plans to...uh........ GO LAKERS!!!! Yeah, I did reschedule for that!

But back to business....it took me 3 hours to gather the ingredients, prep (wash, cut, marinate, etc), and cook the whole thing. I'm not the world's greatest cook, but I'm okay. It's a TON of work though! Really, I don't know how pro chefs do it and look so cool/organized!?

I cut 2 of my fingers, burned my arm, and have a BUNCH of dishes, pans, & utensils to clean tomorrow. Oh well, it shouldn't be too bad....I think I'll have some help cuz my dinner guest just went home to "get some stuff....."

Well, here's what I whipped up: (nothing elaborate, but it all turned out pretty well)

---FRESH garlic shrimp (saute'd w/butter & other "secret spices)
---semi-homemade garlic bread (bakery fresh bread w/my own butter, salt,, & FRESH garlic....where's those ALTOIDS?!)
---saute'd asparagus
---(2) 1.5-2" THICK NY Steaks (girl is only 5' 4" & 109lbs, but she CAN EAT!?)
---bottle of Moet Champagne (I'm not much of a drinker but LOVE the bubbly!)

---dessert in a bit....I'm....I mean...WE are gonna go out and get some!

ok, gotta run....supposed to be getting all purdy!? I smell totally like shrimp, GARLIC, beef, & booze....and today's only Thursday!?

PICS of the fruits of my labor (the food) can be found in my Yahoo Album, "I GOT SKILLZ." Sorry, my usual pic host is acting up....and there's only a couple pics before I set the table...kinda plain, but I *DID* do it right w/flowers, good crystal, the whole 9.....had to use ghetto serving dishes & flatware tho...couldn't find the good stuff, which are packed away in moving boxes.

BTW... your "guest" went home to "get some stuff" and you prepare a meal with garlic AND asparagus? What the hell are you thinking?

yeah, i'll admit that wasn't such a smart "decision." I didn't really think about that until I was elbow deep in stinky garlic & cutting the asparagus!

but the girl did tell me to use garlic on the shrimp...she's a great cook, and the only way i could get her to let me reschedule this dinner to watch the playoffs this weekend was if I cooked dinner. She didn't believe that I could cook either.

anyways, i'm hella tired after all the cooking, but it's not like i can just flake out again. i'll probably just take her out for dessert and then drop her off at home. i'm a gentleman like that, and I ain't THAT easy anyways! Gotta make her wait a couple more dates! hahahaha.....i'm such a dork......but lucky for me, I GOT SKILLZ too!

nite.......catch y'all in the morning

Btw................GO.......j/k

No hate on the asparagus... you may want to put a little LESS on the plate. Looks like a freaking logging camp by those steaks.
