What was the temperature on the dyno?
No one knows, so it may not be as big a factor as thought.

All things being equal, I see a 1 point delta per degree change in temp.
A proper water/alcohol injection system is dead reliable.

It still has a risk factor much higher than that of any other power mod within reason.

You would think that someone would've come up with a failproof method of it, or at least something to track and know when the pump has gone out..etc.

Snow performance and aquamist both have a flow meter fail safe, the best failsafe out there IMO. Flow will tell you if there is is no fluid, low fluid, pump broken, clogged nozzle, etc

Only thing it cant do is let you know if the line after the meter is broken or if the nozzle some how backs out of its bung (seen this on 1 forum, nozzle backed out somehow, motor grenades)

Yep, and supposedly with the aquamist system you are able to have it pull timing if it detects a problem or switch to a different map. I still don't trust it though.

lol..yes there are numerous failsafes you can employ. Either have it switch to a different map or to just cut boost completely

I've seen more motors blown up due to poor tuning, ****ty turbochargers, install workmanship, operator error, than from water/alcohol.

My aquamist system has been installed for ~40K miles without incident.
