RALEIGH — Democrats in the U.S. House have been conducting hearings on proposals to confiscate workers’ personal retirement accounts — including 401(k)s and IRAs — and convert them to accounts managed by the Social Security Administration.

this is just getting ridiculous. Between big business bails outs, higher taxes and a recession, this is the last thing we need. Why should all OUR hard earned money go to OTHER lazy people who didnt plan?

Starting immediately, I am going to start saving cash at home in a safe and that will also be the safe I am going to buy so that the guys I am going to buy are locked up.
Hell, might even want to start planting crops in my backyard... oh wait, Cali is nearly having a water crisis...

That's sad. Four years ago I was jumping off this bridge (2nd post from the top) 25' to the water...

upside: quit your job. even if you don't pay taxes those guys think you're entitled to tax credits and income from the government, paid for by the people dumb enough to make a lot of money and not leave the country...uh oh

so they want to jack 401k's to bolster a weak social security fund... that's a one time shot in the arm for social security and I guarantee you that those of us not retiring anytime soon would NOT see one cent of that.
why on earth would anybody continue to put money into their GSA if they're going to get the same back either way?
oh wait... we ALREADY put money into the last plan along these lines... social security.
but honestly folks, mr. obama already has 45% of the population planning to vote him out in 4 years. do you really think he would do something this radical in his first term? hopefully by the second term we'll have a republican congress.
