add a blue STI to the list, brother was at willowbrook last night, came outside at 10 or so, and the car was gone....he even had a convo with the guy on my brothers cell phone that was left in the car....oh and the theif told him to buy a evo for security reasons.
had just about 4000 miles on it, just keep a look out for blue w/ silver wheels tint all around and apexi cat-back. of course the cars most likely been stripped down already, but its worth a try.

Dang!
Willowbrook?!? Whoa - that's too close to home for me! I park nearby (won't say where since I don't know how many i-clubbers are i-robbers).
Time to get the Lojack!
I recall a friend mentioning a simple switch that can be installed to cut-off the battery, however that doesn't sound like the most sane thing to do since it resets all the electronics. Any other suggestions?

don't know the plate off the top of my head...and by now i really think its in pieces.
yea...willowbrook. he went to red lobster...ate dinner, when he came out the car was gone, no glass or anything. and from what i have been following...not your normal teenage robbers.
though. i don't think you have to worry...maybe getting hijacked along clinton road at 2am by kkk members. but being near the w.m. area your fine...heh

well, they found it. and it might not be the only one.
it was found in east orange...but the cops said nothing else. tomorrow my brother will be checking out the damages and i'll be making some calls to a few friends in the area to see if its spread by word from someone.

Whoa - hope it's a good thing it's found. Your bro has it fully insured, right?
I drive a silver wagon and part of me hopes that thieves would think it's too dorky or too unique to steal. Does make a good getaway car though (even in heavy Rt 46 traffic).
Please keep us posted!

well, the car has no seats, no wheels, the spare is gone, the amp and components are gone...but they left the intake, bov, exhaust...i don't get it. they destroyed the headlights and and front bumper is ruined from removing the HID system. they crashed the car. from transporting the car, the rear bumper was destroyed, as were the rotors and backing plates, the control arms were kinked and the clutch is roasted. also a few more other things like the steering column and locking mechanism/carpet. but whats funny, is the guy left his cd's like he said he would. he just took a few rap cd's. AND THEY LEFT THE WING!...he had neons in the trunk still wrapped...and they crushed them, when they took the system they didn't even remove the rca's...they just cut them
hopefully the car is totalled... but from the way it looks...it will be close. he took a buncha pics so i will post them when i have time to visit him and get them on my comp.
on another note. two of my friends had there cars stolen. 1 99 civic si in whippany, and well...another sooby, 2000 2.5rs right from his driveway. this is getting a little rediculous. wish someone would take mine. lol.
also... there were 4 sti's and wrx in the same place...all stolen. they were all stolen that same night from willowbrook mall. or so they say. the car was covered in fingerprints. the one wrx was in a high speed chase and was crashed into a parking meter where it cracked the water pump housing. dunno how the hell they did it. out of each car, the main thing stolen was the shift ****...i guess it was there prize. they all arived at willowbrook mall in a white astrovan and this was all planned. one sti had wheels, other didn't, one didn't have a wing, another did. it seems like they are just building there own wrx where the parts really won't be traced. oh and the funny thing when my brother was at the shop checking out the damage on the lift, a off duty cop came in and asked if anyone wanted to buy wheels that were from a silver sti w some tire other than the r-compounds...so my brother purchased them for 500 bucks just to get the car rolling. he said they were purchased from wayne subaru...hmmm, now just to see if they have blizzacks on them and questions will be directed towards the cop. well...this is the basic story as of now.

My silver 2002 WRX was stolen last weekend (3/6) out of the Montclare art museum's parking lot. It was recoverd in East Orange with "Heavy front end damage". Had the factory alarm. When I went to see the car there were 2 other wrx sedans, one wrx wagon, and one black STI in the impound lot in East Orange. All stolen for joy rides. I'm thinking of getting an STI if the insurance comes through. Anyone know of a security system that actually works?

I think my car was found crashed and abandoned. I don't know if it was involved in a chase. The black STI was badly stripped (intercooler, turbo, BOV, shift ****, wing, etc..) but they left the gold wheels.
Does anyone know where I could get a manual fuel cut off switch installed? I'm in the Wayne-Pompton Plains area. I think that might be the only thing that would work.

I live in Newark and my Suby still has fingerprint dust on the door handles!
They ripped the bottom plastic off of the steering column, my aunt yelled at them as she pulled into our house. As she ran up the steps to our porch, one of the guys jumped on the windsheild of her 98 Galant and started "stompin in his air force ones". Needless to say I paid for the windshield replacement ($200 from safelite). They took my Wu-Tang: Enter 36 Chambers CD and my work computer breifcase. FUnny thing is I never keep my briefcase in the car, it had my Sony Clie with the digi-camera. It was amazing, now lost. They scratched up the ignition trying to pop it but to no avail.
The Newark PD are the greatest most courageous sons of B__ches on the planet. I wish them all home safe.
Hey anyone want your payments to stop, park your car in Newark (the former car-jacking capital of the world).
