Very interesting how subaru goes with the 2.5 L to attack the evo viii - - obviously - (as i posted above) the only way to get around the physical disatvantge of the distance between the turbo and the exhust ports - the 2.5 L is the obvious way to beat them
Now - after seeing this late breaking news - I think I'll hang on to my suby - which is essentialy a STI from front to back - and order a 2.5 L short block from my local freindly suby dealer when it comes out
With my turbo set up and other external mods the 2.5 increase in displacement will be the perfect match
Interesting by the way - how they get the same HP fo rthe US as basically the 2.0 L in Japan - with our crappy gas - just adding the extra .5 of displacement
This set up should be good for an easy 400 hp to the wheels with a few simple mods

Al - there is no need to wait for the STi to come here, or for a dealer to order you a short block... just get the Cobb 2.5L block if that's what you're interested in. Much easier, and probably better suited for what you want out of it.

yeah - I guess you could talk to DJ in Venesuala about that Cobb stuff
I was going to go that route but putting all that $$$ up front and waiting like 8 - 10 weeks to get a short block is not my idea of fun !
If I found a place that had that stuff in stock i might have already bought one
Basically I am just getting the sti and that is it !
