Seems like they updated the front fascia a little... got rid of the two circular faux brake ducts for one thing.

They also mention MIVEC 2 and a turbocharger material change... Is this an Evo 9.5, then? This update reminds me of what they did to the VIII in 2005 with the 10.5 turbo hotside.

Doesnt matter much, it wont ever come to the US. The US gets the Evo with SE badging (already on dealer lots). Basically a front lip, HIDs, BBS, ugly red stitching on on the seats and aluminum roof (1800 more for this package). So its like the MR minus the 6-speed and bilsteins

The MR SE ($500 more) just gets some extra body work

THey released this MR and stuff in japan with the spiffy turbo since (well its always had a lighter wheel than the US spec) since its the last 4g63 mitsubishi will produce. IX production has nearly stopped (the SEs are being rolled out now). Then they will start to retool for the X

Damnit someone already said it, but +1 the wagon is disgusting. Not boring looking, it doesnt even look like a sleeper, its just ugly. Like a possum, or a Volvo.

Wow, so that's like the best Evo we'll get then... aluminum roof and HID's without the softer Bilsteins at ~$3k less than an MR (and who knows how much South Coast is selling them for, lol). It's still too bad the U.S. never got all of the JDM Evo's equipment like the S-AYC or upgraded turbocharger.

this was actually the first MR released in japan as well. The 05/06 MR was one of the only times the US got a higher badged car than japan (the gsr there still had the 6-speed, etc)

Southcoast is selling the SE for 500 over invoice

FYI, the IX SE is 30k +TTL, the IX MR SE is 34k +TTL

The MR 6-speed isnt all that great though (nothing compared to the STi unit). Quite a few failures on the track and you cant replace single gears, you gotta reaplce the whole thing, and yeah the bilsteins are pretty soft. The stock KYBs on the IX paired with swift or espelir springs are a pretty wicked combo

If that wagon makes the U.S. and SOA doesn't bring the sti wagon or forester xt wagon over they are complete fools. The market has been primed for an sti wagon for sometime now. I'd know for damn sure it will be my next car.

shoot I still don't get why the spec C isn't here.
