Yeah, when making statements like you just did... it becomes necessary to clarify what we are both talking about. I don't believe that the Bible contradicts the message from God.

Biblical characters definitely are hypocritical throughout the Bible and many unholy stories are told to illustrate many different things in the Bible. It's by no means a book full of only Holy characters... there are TONS of examples of what I'm talking about. So if that's what you are talking about, then I completely agree, that's why it is written to include them. To help humble man and help us realize that even the best of us can temporarily stray from God and fall to Devil's schemes.

Just keep blaming God for not keeping everyone healthy. Blame firefighters for letting fires happen etc etc.
way to post a non answer that barely makes sense.

Maybe the positive has not happened yet.
still not answering the question:

what just and merciful god would allow this to happen.

I don't think Mormons acknowledge the difference in beliefs.
AFAIK they read the new testament in addition to the old testament and the book of mormon. It might not be a classical definition, but I consider any religion who believes in the teachings of the new testament to be christian.

How does it not make sense?

Youre blaming God for all the misfortunes people face when you should be blaming Satan.

Do you want color by numbers?

Ahem *clears throat*

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them

I would pretty much sum that up as one huge Grade A, prime example of hate speech, intolerance, and persecution.

all i am asking is a simple question:

what just and merciful god would allow the level of suffering innocent people live in here on earth?

i see two arguments going on:

irrational x versus kyle

and

medicsti versus jewpac

guess which one is more educational and a better example for how people should discuss volatile topics on the intArdw3b? hint: kyle said "you lost me"

its a simple question. if the god you love so much truely is all loving, just, and merciful, why does he allow innocent people to suffer unimaginable pain?

An eternal God. We are all tested in our faith. Who knows exactly why God let's bad things happen to us. Maybe suffering on Earth will lead to someone finding Christ and spending eternity in Heaven instead of Hell... If that were the case, would you not prefer to suffer on Earth and find God to end up spending eternity in Heaven instead of Hell? But who knows why exactly God let's bad things happen...

Maybe because of all those bad things happening we become better people in the end? More compassionate, understanding, caring, loving, charitable, content, confident, encouraged, faithful, giving, humbled, honest, with integrity, patience, forgiving, thoughtful, thankful, wise, and stronger?

The earth is the Devil's domain... like I quoted, he is like a prowling lion waiting to devour you.

The real question is what just merciful god would NOT allow that to happen.

Is controlling just and merciful?

For the sake of argument, you have to put yourself in others shoes...i know that is hard for you to comprehend...but try to stay with me here...or you can just keep beating around the bush.

So now that you believe there is a God and satan, what makes you think that satan isn't causing all this harm?

Say satan gave you all your health problems, and lets say God solved them.

That should answer your question right there.
