A majority of Californians bought into the lies perpetrated by the out of state supporters of this horrendously hateful proposition. If they had read the proposition and understood what they were actually voting on I think it would have turned out much differently.

Until there is an injunction and the supreme court overturns it again becuase it is an amendment that denies rights to a document intended to protect rights. And the supreme court did not indicate they thought it should be amended, they interpreted the proposition to be illegal under the current state consititution.
I'm not even religious. I stated before I find it unfortunate that homosexual marriage had to be at the center of this. I voted to protect my right to vote. I voted to ensure that democracy still exists in this country. A government for the people by the people. I'm not about to stand by and let my vote be overturned by a bunch of appointed liberal judges. Judges that feel my thoughts ,albeit my right to think freely, are unconstitutional. I'm not about to sit by and let someone else decide what's right for me. I'm perfectly capable of deciding that on my own. Here's the wake up call. The progressive agenda will find it very difficult to force legal thought as long as we still have democracy.

Its a religious argument, the christian right is trying to force its religious beliefs into law. And if you aren't religious why are you afraid of someone "interfering" with your "traditional marriage"?
