what i said is people that have ALREADY been here and did NOT get paid under the table they got W-2 forms for all those years.

And people that have ALREADY been here and got paid under the table they must report ALL that income for each year (i guess INS will ask for something else to prove they were here all those years; but if ppl wants to claim they were here they MUST pay their taxes like everyone else)

Also ppl will not line up. The bill also includes new laws to enforce employers to verify for legal status. If all illegals get works permits employers will not have "excuse" to keep paying under the table. Everything should match then.

It's all one big mess for employers, too. They weren't supposed to be employing illegals all this time an fake SSNs are a RED FLAG.

I'm still pissed off thinking that 1/2 of these people will be rewarded with citizenship for breaking the law longer (over 5 years), and what about the other 20 million relatives that will be sponsored?!

But you guys talk about employers verifying validity. My dad employees extra workers during harvest (october & november). He requires that they have 1)ID and 2)SS card. He does not pay them under the table, so they all kind of "contribute" to the system. But it's not his job to verify if they are legal or not. He's doing his part by making copies of their info and what not. IDK, I don't think they should put the burden of checking their validity on the employer. Although, I do see how this can help. If they're going to do that though, they should make it easier and cheaper to check/verify.
