knocking in my rear
Hey i was wondering if anyone knows whats wrong with my sti, Im thinking the struts or something....when driving there is a weird knocking sound coming from the rear right whenever hitting a bump, anyone have similar problem is this something i should fix immediately, its been going on for a while but my dad was driving me and it was super noticeable without my loud music
IIRC this is a very common issue with the sti struts. I think its alright but not positive. Some searching on nasioc (dreaded territory i know) should bring up some quick answers. Heres a link i found.

I believe LIC motorsports does some sort of work on the struts to fix up the issue as well.
EDIT::From the link i posted quoted from TurninConcepts

it's a lubrication issue until the strut truly dies. lift the dustboot, clean the body, and put some good grease on it.
When we ran the 04 STi takeoffs on Tony's car for a good long while he took apart the rear struts, cleaned out the crap stock grease, and repacked the seals with good stuff. I believe he put something like 20K miles on them. No clunks.
If you grease them, and they are still making noise then they are truly dead.
As for loosening the studs - don't just arbitrarily loosen them. Break them loose with a breaker bar, and then properly torque them to about 72lbs tightening progressively in a star pattern.
