knocking/banging noise please help!!
I posted this on the general section a few weeks ago and the only responce i got was my pistons were fried which I don't think is the case. What is happening is from idol to 1500 rpm my car is making a loud knocking/banding noise. My car only used to do it when it was cold in the winter , now it seems to do it a lot more about 85 to 90 % of the time no matter what weather it is out side. The only modes I have is the turboxs stage 2 setup (unichip), which is saftely tuned. Any suggestions or help to fix this problem would be greatly be appreciated.

is it an acending noise like does it get faster as u increase the throtlle .

It only does it from idol to 1500 rpm, its a knocking/banging noise it seems to be a little worse when its damp or cold out. Has anyone had any simular problems. I did a reset on the ecu and the same thing still occurs. Oil level is good. Any other problems you might thnk it is, that might help me. Thanks!!

Silver arrow I am from groton but I am not in the miltary, tommrow i'm going to change the oil, check for vaccum leaks, and pull the unichip computer from the ecu to see if it corrects the problem. In the mean ime if any one on the board has any suggestions to what the problem might be please let me know. Thanks!!

fast turbo20 go to the dealer and tell them that the timming belt tentsioner is bad and making noise.
