Legacy GT looks better and has 250hp and more torque... why are WRXs still selling?

Why I purchased an Impreza over an LGT:
And don't forget that the '06 WRX will have the 2.5 just as the Legacy does.
- Price. If I had an LGT, it would be a limited because I want a sunroof. badly. The sunroof helped put the LGT out of my price range, though truthfully I didn't want the payments on a non limited either. For example, after the $1500 rebate I got my WRX wagon for < $20,000. An LGT would have been $25k minimum.
- Vehicle size. While I love the looks, both inside and out, of the LGT, it is a bigger car than the Impreza. I would have picked up an LGT wagon, however I think I'm happier with the shorter length of the Impreza.

That does indeed make a compelling argument for buying the WRX, IMO, since performance is the #1 reason that car had/has booming sales.

wrx vs LGT
Ericdared is right as far as we can tell as well. the new WRX will not have 250HP, it'll be in the high 230's.
Apart from price, two things that people are not considering is that LGT is significantly heavier than an Impreza, which is a MAJOR factor in performance, and also that the WRX and LGT have different All-Wheel Drive systems. LGT uses Subie's new VTD AWD system, while WRX has a fixed split (with 5MT).

I don't think price is really much of an issue. The LGT is only little over 1K more than the WRX (26K vs 25K) and with the dealer incentives going on trying to clear out the 05s, the Legacy is nearly the same price. The 06 LGT will pretty much be the same but with leather standard equipment and optional NAV.
I think it comes down to preference at this point. I test drove the 05 2.5GT and wasn't impressed with the soft handling, power was there but you can feel the weight of the car (200lbs more than WRX) ... but then I never drove a WRX to compare.
Interior, exterior are both great on the LGT but I'd be tempted to get some JDM-spec bumpers which are shorter and a different design. IMHO, much better than the US-spec elongated bumpers.

In fact, next year there will not be a way to pick up a non-limited LGT.
Speculation has it that the non-limited (or unlimited as some people say) Legacy GT was stealing too many sales away from WRXs, so the non-limited version is going away for '06
