Which roadster would you buy? why?

The Z isn't a roadster. Roadsters are 2 seat convertables. Have you considered a Miata and a turbo? Probably end up close in price to the other two cars. I forget what magazine it was, but they hated the TT saying the shifter feels rubbery, you feel separated from the road, and that it is extremely under powered for it's weight. The S2000 looks awesome, and if you think about it, it's powerband is just as wide as any other sporty car. It's just 3,000 rpm higher.

I generally don't like roadsters for my own use because I park in a lot of places where they may be subject to vandalism or break-ins. I really like the S2000, though. I think it's a beautifully executed car and I'm still surprised that it wasn't marketed as an Acura.
If I had an S2000, I'd get the Comptech 50-state legal supercharger kit. I wish the power curve emphasized more low to mid-range torque, but could live with the top-end rush.

Even when the Z comes out in a convertable body style, hardcore roadster drivers will still say it's not a roadster. I used to be on a Miata message board and this is their definition of a roadster.
I can't believe nobody mentioned the MR-2 Spyder. Maybe a year or two old BMW Z3 or slightly older than that Porshe Boxter. I'm pretty sure I've seen 2-3 year old low mileage Boxters and Z3s for close to $30,000, which I believe is in the price range of the other mentioned ROADSTERS.
Previously stated on a Miata message board
A roadster is a light, well balanced, 2 seat convertable, that was designed from the ground up to be a ragtop and only a ragtop.

I would go s2000 all the way.
You get the essentials.
High revving VTEC engine. 8300rpms
240 Horsepower.
Honda Reliablity.
pretty good gas mileage.
Overall i think it's a good bet out of the 3. The Audi TT is a nice ride yet from what i heard a little sluggish.

Torque's not that great, but I wouldn't be out to win that many races in one. The Z4 is nice, too, but I don't really like the style.
