Your Owner's Manual probably lists a recommended grade and viscosity chart for the manual transmission and rear differential under 'Maintenance and service'. I don't have a copy of the '06 Owner's Manual, but my '02 manual covers this. Under the 'Specifications' section, it lists the capacity of the manual transmission but not the rear diff.

In the '02 Section 1 General Information service manual, it lists the rear differential capacity as 0.8 U.S. quarts and the transmission as 3.7 U.S. quarts. I don't know if capacity has changed since 2002 model year.

What about those additives that you can buy for viscus limited slip diffs? And what exactly does that ML5 rating mean?

GL5, not ML5.
Yes just follow the recommendations in the manual for type and viscosity. Do not use 75W140, it is way too heavy.
The friction modifier additives are NOT for the viscous LSDs, those do not require any additive because they are sealed units that do not have any contact with the gear oil. The additives are for the "wet" clutch-type LSDs.
