Can the stock auto transmission handle 290 torque and still be reliable?
I wanted to upgrade the turbo and do some other mods and dont want my transmission to go out due to the new upgrades.

you should really upgrade the torque converter and valvebody to get the best performance out of your 4eat tranny. especially if you are going to be putting through 290 torque. They will help reduce the amount of stress put on your gears.
