This isn't scientific, but I have heard that a certain brand; Mobil 1 synthetic, it has a tendancy to burn in turbo charged cars. But I have also heard accounts of owners that swear by the stuff too. About a 50/50 arguement. I used to run Amsoil 10w-40 in my '01 2.5 RS and Castrol 100% synthetic 5w-30 in my '03 WRX. No problems, daily drivers, both cars. I no longer have my Suby's (sad) and now drive a '06 Nismo Frontier (not for much longer though '09 Sti) and don't give a rats *** what I use. Whatever the goodyear tire shop that my dad sent me to now. Just my two cents. Have an oil analysis done it's cheap and could save you some major repairs in the future. Google it, or ask around I am sure someone here knows how to do it. I haven't had the need yet.

^^^ That's a real good thread. Alot to see and know. To the original poster, What type of Oil are you running?? And did you look at and around your oil pan, or after leaving an area where you parked for awhile to see if you have any leak?? Hope its not too bad. Maybe the oil filter or drain plug isnt tightened properly.

Try letting it cool down before you turn it off, after driving it hard... AKA leaving your car on for a good couple min...

The oil could be clumping in the really hot turbo and burning off...

You should be worrying if it's puddling up, or dripping.

Check all your turbo oil lines.
