also - do you have a completely stock brake system, or do you have SS lines or upgraded pads, etc.?

All I have is upgraded brake fluid. I just had a terrible experience down at the shop, posted up in the bay area forum.

I'm taking my car in on Monday and will post on Tuesday. I have AccessPort and unfortunately will be taking my car to the same place as slvrsubywagon. It is my understanding that they will be replacing the ABS Control Module and Hydraulic Control Unit (AB-SCM&HU) which is located directly behind the right headlight.

I will be putting my car in Economy Mode so at least the Tech won't be able to have full boost when he is test driving my car. I will also be putting the stock tires and wheels back on the car.

Just got this done, the brakes actually bite hard when hitting bumps especially downhill, and you can even hear an occasionaly screech as the brakes do their intended job. Completely worth a weekend without the car! Also the dealership didn't say anything about my friend's ECUtek reflashed car when he brought it in, but the whole car is stock anyways except that. And I do not believe the reflash was "deleted" though the battery was unplugged by the dealer for this service.

i don't think they would be able to detect the reflash anyways, and unplugging the battery shouldn't erase the reflash. Good to hear it was worth the service though, i still need to get this done.

got mine done yesterday - they just replace the ecu - they don't need to remove the valve body, or do anything else to the system - so unless you have a blatant mod to the brake system (4pots or some other big brake kit) you should be fine. Haven't had a chance to test it yet, but I am encouraged by the results which thebankman got.

Why would you want to swap your ABS control unit, are you even sure if it has a problem. Everyone has this retarded image in there head where they think this service is going to improve their braking distance or some other stupid performance fantasy. If your car comes to a stop, then you just answered your own question (it means its good). Let's say it was a rainy day, and you braked really hard and really late, all of a sudden your car started sliding and you know for a fact you didn't feel your abs because there was no brake pedal vibration which is the actuation of the abs solenoid- then it would be a good time to check out that unit if it even is the problem. So unless you have this probem, then don't waste the dealerships time and the techs time or more importently, your time.

I am also wondering if I could still take the care in on this item. I purchased an 03 WRX about a week ago and it is completely bone stock and only had one owner. I am unsure if he took it in to have this done.
