Worth It?

I'm doing a little exhaust research for my 03 WRX.

Can anyone tell me if there is a lot of difference in exhaust noise when eliminating the 3rd cat? Also...Is there a noticeable difference in horsepower (noticable enough that it is worth the $)?

Thanks.

I'd suggest getting the Borla Hush cat back. So far I've liked it and on the dyno it gve me a 10 HP increase (peak). I posted the results in the WRX EJ20t forum, with pics of the dyno graph. You'll lose some power on the low end, but on the high end you'll get a bigger difference than the stock exhaust. Also the Borla looks just like the stock one, so no cops should bother you, at least that's what I'm hoping for here in California.

Thanks. Has anyone tried the Vishnu Stage Sub-Zero, or know anything about?

I would leave one cat on your car. Not worth the fines IMO...

most people run catless, but some will put the heat sheilds back onto the downpipe and midpipes so when cops do check underneath they see something that looks like a cat.

with that said, they will probably just write you up for a modified exhaust and u will need to get it measured at a dB station

i might be wrong tho, someone else verify this

btw i'm from california

The Vishnu Stage Sub-Zero kit consists of an ECU reflash, only - no exhaust system components.
