Well this is what happened to me.....I bought my car with like 250 miles on it...... and did not know how those miles were driven...so I got kinda screwed on that part.... I myself beat it down pretty good on the test drive..... thats what made me want to buy the car......

then I took it easy till like 700 miles...was driving it on the highway varying my rpm's at a constant speed...

I have not railed on my car since but I revv in the 5-6K range around every other day...and the car runs great.... feels really loose.... so to all those who are scared to go past 4K..... dont be....just do not redline it like every other shift.....

I myself will start to beat the hell out of my car after my first oil change....
