HELP!!!! Timing Belt Emergency? Am I breaking my car?????
Help.
I am doing a timing belt install using this guide
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...g+belt+install
I am at step 14.Take your car back out of 3rd gear, and double check the small line on the crank sprocket. Make sure it is lined up with the line on the motor, if not, turn the crank clockwise with the 22mm socket and align them. There are two marks on the crank sprocket a dash (line), and a dot.. you want to line up the dash
Car is an auto so not in gear (in P). My car looks as pictured except no timing belt on (said to take off around step 10)The mark was a half tick off to the right once I pulled the belt and the right side (driver's side) lifted. I did what they said turned the crank clockwise (bit of resistance here and there). Then, it just stopped with the tick mark about 3/4 around so it points toward the passenger side door. What do I do now??? Do I try to wrench it around to the left? Am I bending valves? I'm worried as I don't have the money for a rebuild. Thanks
