Newb UP & DP question
Right,
So i'm ready to get on with this as my warrenty just expired. After much research, I want to replace my UP and DP and add a utec or xede a bit later. First I realize I need to get atleast an EGT and Boost gauge.
For the UP i have seen them made of 321,304, SS and cast iron. Should this be taken into consideration? I only drive spiritedly and a few autox's. Also some have EGT and 02 bungs? Are these for the factory ecu readings or 'extras' that I can use for the EGT gauge? I also plan on putting in a new gasket to prevent any leaks.
Since the DP will only have one cat, will it cause emissions issues? Gotta have it tested yearly in Atlanta.
Last question, as i am not mech inclined, how much should I expect to pay in installation around ATL? NE1 of any shops?
Thanks for all your help....

as far as the material for the uppipe i'm gonna say go with what you feel comfortable with. The most important thing the uppipes does for perforamce is remove taht stupid cat.
I just had my Vishnu UP and Cusco DP ceramic coated in hopes to keep engine temps down and maybe get more life out of the pipes.
Removing the uppipe I doubt will do anything for emissions. This is mostly for when the car is warming up and before the other cats kick in. It then shortly becomes ineffective.
But removing the DP cat ... eh ... this is a do at your own risk. But you swap stock with aftermarket. Get tested with stock then just get home and put aftermarket back on.
Dont worry about upgrading / moving stock sensors. They are just that ... stock. If you want better accuracy in your datalogs then you will have to switch to a standalone that allows you tot upgrade the sensors.

There is possibility of touble code po420 poor catalist performance. That code may come up and if the light is on them you will not pass emissions. Otherwise you will be fine with one cat. GPMoto has header that includes uppipe and will hold factory egt sensor(without damaging it). There is also DP with cat and 3" exhaust available too.
The EGT port in most uppipes does not keep the sensor protected from the hot pulses of exhaust at idle like the factory UP. This causes sensor to burn out. O2 sensor port in UP is for extra sensor. AVO has UP available, as does GPMoto.
