clutch shudder
clutch shudder is kind of when first gear doesn't take off at 1200 rpm in the morning. If it does take off in first gear at low rpm's when its cold the clutch jerks the car and makes a loud vibrating noise. <--- maybe not a great explanation but its as close as I can get.

everything Pepsi said: In the morning, mostly cold winter mornings, if you lauch your car in first gear and any RPM below 2k, the car will buck and jerk like a wild bull on steroids when taking off. It sux. I have it, happens almost every morning, but they can't duplicate it. sux sux sux!

If the dealer can duplicate the problem (they'll need to keep it overnight so it can get cold!) they may replace both clutch and flywheel.
This was supposedly only a problem with the first waves of '02 WRX's. The production parts weren't as good as the prototypes and it wasn't caught until they started to sell.

i got the same f ing problem, hopefully when i put the act clutch in that will solve the problem.
ps: we have 3 wrx's in our family, and we all suffer from the shudder. Even more so when we get our cars back from the dyno. At times its worse than others, but i remembered in the winter it vibrated so much my coin tray popped out. Now i just adjusted my style of driving fluttering the throtle so i get less of the shudder. still not a fix, but it helps
