STi audio set-ups...
Hey Dan and Dave....I guess I'm in the same group as you....Guys who own STIs, are willing to tell a little about them, but don't necessarily have the time to write a 20000 word essay.
Janq, I'll give you credit...I'm sure you put a lot of thought into those questions and they were quite comprehensive....but I don't believe it's reasonable for someone to answer all of them completely within this period of time. I know I've replied to some individual questions and to be honest....it can become very time consuming to provide detailed answers to these questions. Maybe you should have just started with a question or two rather than a huge shopping....that might have been easier to digest...and you may have then received a little more detail.
Hopefully this crap about attitude and rudeness will come to an end so we can spend time talking about more important things...maybe his answer were short...but so what.....if someone makes comments like Agent did I, I just might not answer anything for a while.
And one more thing.......what age is considered "young" when owning a STI? And what makes someone "professional"? Although I don't know anyone one hear personally yet, from what I've read and observed a number of us in the Hawaii forum have a college degree(s), certifications, work in fields that many would consider "professional", etc. Well that was my bit....
By the way....why the hell are we talking about this in the STI audio thread????

Anyway, can you provide me with the numbers to any excellent car audio places in new Hampshire? I'll go in a flash and save my 15%!!
HA, good audio stores in NH. ummm, the best we probably have is tweeter, and they only carry mostly kenwood/alpine. if you want their number i can get it. also, we have Audio Experts, they are a little pricey, and dont know crap, but if you just want to order, i can get their number too, they have blaupunkt, alpine, kenwood, pioneer, and a few others i think

Where are you going for your car audio? I want a place that does wicked installations, and knows what the hell they are talking about.

This is the strategy I'm going to work off of after finding out the long way.
I can't imagine that the installation is too difficult...is it?
I would prefer to order online and get better prices and then install the components myself rather than trusting my car to some audio shop.
Thanks for the advice though, i agree totally.

Installation isn't hard. It takes time do it right and make it look good. I think the hardest part is running the wires. Unless you plan to fabricate a lot of stuff. building a box for subs isn't to hard just make sure you make it the correct size for the particular sub. Theres a few little tips and such to do everything right but not to bad at all.

I've never seen the point of having somebody else rip your car apart when you can have the fun yourself

yeah, but you have to know how to rip your car apart without making mistakes. Also, you have to know about sound imaging and where best to place the stuff depending on the car. An audio shop will have done more WRX's than you whicj means they have a higher vhance of knowing where and what will work best in most cars. I'm for having someone else do the work, but to each their own.
