also check out Xtant amps, there lower models are pretty crappy but their higher stuff is just plain sick, very very very clean power

and JL audio has amps too, they arent the cleanest power, but they are under-rated, as is all of JL's stuff

I don't know if anyone noticed on the 360 degree view, but it looks like there is a spot for a tweeter to mount directly in front of the door handle. If there is an opening there, I will go with separate components for up front(JL Audio). Does the regular WRX have that opening?

This is just my opinion......if youre thinking about Boston 3ways you have no business looking at Blaupunkt decks I'm just wondering...how much are you planning to spend and how will the bostons be installed? You're probably looking at around $1000 to purchase and install the 6.53 in kickpanels. If you want audiophile sound you might want to consider Bostons new Z-series components. I have 5.5pros and the Z made them sound bad. They are hands down the best I've ever heard (but everyone has a different ear). They retail for $1k a set but the install will be much easier.

The others are right when they say you need clean power and a lot of it. With the right cross-over settings you won't be able to give Boston components too much power (they handle up to 400w). And no offense but don't buy one of the those "claimed" 1000w amps that sell for $300. You should purchase the best amps you can find because you WILL hear a difference in you components. I would probably recommend Rockford power series, JL, high end Phoenix gold, and Xtant. Xtant has a new line of full range class D mono amps (I believe its 1.1) that are rock solid. They are very small (increasing installation options), extremely efficient (draw less current), and sound very clean. They are rated at 100w (real power, actually underrated power) and because they are mono (1 channel) you'll need two for each set of speakers (left and right channel). I think they are selling for $300 each (600 a pair)......but if you are seriously considering something like the 6.53 you should get the most out of them.

DONT SKIMP ON THE AMP

it seems that most mono amps are designed with subs in mind, for speakers the 2 channel amps are better. but yeah, DONT SKIMP ON AN AMP!!!
also, if amping everything, i think eclipse decks are the only way to go, they stomp everything out there when it comes to clarity and the 16v preouts are sick. but if you plan to not amp rear speakers, you will need a deck with regular speaker outputs too.
it also seems to me that $1 per watt of power is a good amp, not always, but just a general rule. example: 1000w xtant = $1000
500w JL = $500 make sense to anyone?
