basically.. if my friend matt who owned the prelude smoked the type R, if he raced in a WRX against an EVO on the street, most likely my friend matt would win because he is a skilled racer, not many people can drive like him, only the pros and there arent many expert racers on the streets and on the tracks. they are into riced out kits and looks, but they dont got the racer in them to bak it up.

sup yellow rex, ya i know u told everyone u sold ur WRX for the evo.. and i have to say, good decision. i drive a 93 jeep grand cherokee and a 2003 WRX, the jeep is good for carrying supplies and hotboxing, which is ok, and the WRX... wat can i say.. i love it! u can hotbox in that and bump the music and cruise all night long and never get bored
wow u had sum real nice cars... especially liked ur wrx and 300Z
sweetness.
and i meant it was sad how my friend who drove his type R lost to a 92 prelude vtec, but thats cause he raced a super skilled racer who can smoke a lot of unsuspecting cocky drivers on the streets.
i goto say your webpage is tight.. your WRX is sexy as hell too bad u dont have it anymore man... damn i like that yellow. ur evo looks mean but if u chose a different color i think id look hardkore. by the way where do u live?

ofcourse there are those who bought the evo8 and then didnt know about the sti.. and might regret it cause the sti is awesome, but u cant complain cause the evo8 is another master of disaster
Yellow Rex,
CONGRATS MAN! That's a sweet ride!
Question: When the STi comes, you're gonna sell the EVO aren't you?

This is what I'd do:
My WRX as my wifes daily work car, EVO 8 for my daily work car, STi as my wifes weekend car, M3 as my weekend car, and finally an R34 as my "smoke everyone on the road like a peace pipe" car!
Haha, only if we had the money hey fellas?
- Logan
p.s. H2 as my grocery getter...that's all it's really used for anyways.

Dude, do you realize that you said almost the exact same thing? And correct me iif I am wrong but I don't think there are any 9 and 10 month old magazines sitting on a newstand shelf for everyone to go read the article.Let me help you out a little. Modded means not stock. Technically, changing the paper ar filter out for a K&N, makes a car modded. So a 230hp (maybe 180whp) WRX obviously can't keep up with a Evo VII (which most of us know is closer to 300hp, unlike the US Evolution). My modded WRX with 275whp, which ran a best 1/4 mile of 12.6s, will thorughly dust off a stock Evo7. Cobb's 420+whp modded WRX will make an Evo7 feel like its in reverse. So see, you have to quantify the word "modded." It's pretty obvious that you are very young, so I won't flame you or anything (no more at least
), but think about that, give it a lil' thought, then give a better reply.

ya sorri u cant see the magazine but i just tried to state the fact that i saw the information in that issue, but it doesnt matter because my bottom line is. my point is. the driver matters a lot, and wat kind of help is telling me modded is not stock? no duh.. ur backhanded sarcasm really shows that u must be really cocky and id probably smoke you in my wrx. wat are your mods in the supposed 275hp wrx of yours?...
exactly how did YOU quantify the word modded? wat mods did u have? you just told me 275hp.. thats really quantifying the word "modded"
by the way how young are you? i bet u cant even guess my real age.. so dont even assume.
bottom line.point is. driver matters because im stating the fact that in sportscompact car it showed: project WRX vs. EVOVII the wrx only lost due to the .1 and that is the fact, Now im saying is the STI will dominate the EVO. my belief

i happened to stop by the mitsubishi dealer the other day, wed, and got to see one, it is pretty cool car, it is a bit pricey 35 grand,
but i will say it it looked like a real solid car, but there was a lot of **** the guy was telling me that made it sound kinda like a car that you have to keep doing a lot of **** with, you void the warrantys, if you use any oil other than mobil 1, and if you use a turbo timer you void the warranty, you actually have to sit in the car till it cools of brfore you shut it off, that is if you have been driving it hard. All in in all i would still like to have it, i was impressed because it is a lancer and i think they look ugly, but the evo has a different look for some reason, plus the tire diameter looks right, if you see the regular lancer driving around with the OZ rally rims they tires look to small, the base line lancer not the evo reminded me of my 97 ford escort when you got into it.
The other thing the salesmaan said was that they were going to bring out a non turbo loook alike evo maybe next year for. knida like the wrx, and the rs. Do not hold me to it that is what i was told.
But to the guys that bought them do they really haul azz. It does look like it hauls ***. nice rides.

I too would have never thougth that I'd get an EVO. You know, the Mitsu unreliability, the lancer is butt ugly, the STi is coming out anyway, etc, etc.
I will tell you a couple of related things. First is that my very first impulse was to get an STI, I went to the dealer where I got my WRX and bugged them on a regular basis about the STi (so far it's still vaporware).Anyway, finally the sales manager makes up this bull**** contract where you give them a $500 non-refundable deposit and the promise to make it as hard as they can for you to buy the car
Well..... I started reading about the EVO. EVO this, EVO that, my racer driver coworker and anothe car enthusiast at work are really singing the praises of the not-here-yet EVO (they like it better that the not-here-yet STi. By sheer coincidence I went to CARMAX yet another time to ask about the EVO (they know nothing... I mean nothing..) Anyway this guy says "you know, now that you mention it, I think they got one of those in today..."As I said before, I could not even see it that day, the next day bright and early we went to see it and it was awesome
I was completely surprised by how nice a car it was. Much better in person than any photos or magazine articles.... I tried to buy it on the spot, but I had to go through 4 days of waiting and worrying because they did not have the papers for it and they would not take a deposit or anything! I got lucky and the car was still there 4 day later and I bought it on the spot
First of all, it was *under* $30K but the rest of what you say is right about the dealers giving you all kinds of song and dance about the warranty, blah, blah, blah, etc. I think is all bull****, as long as you maintain the car properly (who wouldn't?) with the Mobil 1 and all, they cannot void your warranty. The bottom line is that I went for the EVO like a sailor on leave after a smiling girl
Maybe when the STi comes out I might wish thatt I'd waited, but really, I don't think so. The 2 are different cars and can only be compared like apples to oranges. I loved my WRX and I'm sure the STi will rock, but the EVO rocks!!
