Some salesmen know their stuff. However, a lot don't, so you need to do your own research before you shop around because you can't count on the salesman's information to be accurate.
There's an incredible amount of turnover in car sales, so there's a fair chance the guy sitting in across the desk from you has been at that dealership for a year or less. I'm guessing this doesn't help their product knowledge much.

Well service guys' info comes from hands-on experience, which they don't have on the STi yet, so you can cut him a little slack on this one.
I don't know about carpet, stereo is an option, and word is DCCD can shift torque as much as 65% to either set of wheels; 100% is highly doubtful.
