Anyone heard of a factory boost gauge??
My dealer just called and told me they i can pre-order a factory boost gauge...is it worth getting it from the dealer or should i just install my own aftermarket one? If its anything like the first one on the previous wrx's, the location was pretty out of place...so was just wondering if any of you guys heard anything about this from your own dealers.
thanks, Silver Ghost

Hey silver ghost,
I am personally going to pass on the factory turbo gauge. You can always add an aftermarketone much cheaper the the $300 bucks they are asking for the factory one.
Here is the list of options I was given by my dealer in an e-mail today:
1.)Turbo Gauge cost=$297
2.)Security System Upgrade=$230
3.)Wheel Locks=$39
4.)Carbon FiberTrim=$350
5.)Autodimming Mirror=$183
6.)Arm Rest Extention=$145
I asked him about the Radio, and he said that it wasn't a listed option from his manager. Interesting....

Silver Ghost,
This same issue came up with me and my WRX. One thing you may want to consider is whether you plan on modding the car or not. If not, my advice would be to stick to SOA components as much as possible for resale purposes. Plus, if you finance or lease the car, the cost is subsumed into the financing, which (depending on your financing) is usually a plus. If you want to save money, you can always install the SOA stuff yourself. That's what I did, although it was only barely worth the hasstle looking back on it.
But if so (i.e., you plan on more mods), do whatever floats your boat.

My dealer does not have either the wheel locks or the carbon fiber trim as an available option on his list. What's going on here?
At the dock: Silver/silver/all options(that I know of)

hey guys,
i appreciate all the replies...yeah, i think i've made the right decision without going with the factory gauge. i heard that Defi gauges are one of the best out on the market as well, do anyone know if they have the red led's during the night like the STi dashes?? that would be a great match!
