Talking

I'm 32 years old. a parent. a responsible tax paying member of society, but:

I dont know if even I am mature enough to drive an STI....lol..

the temptation is always there...those who live in the DC metro area know full well what I mean. The roads are fair enough shape to race on, and in the off peak hours, the freeways are free game.

its going to take all the restraint I can muster on this one.

This is partly the reason why I started this thread. What an idiot. He shouldn't have dragged him in the first place. These types of incidents are probably the reason why Fremont's traffic system is 2 steps short of "Big-Brother". He didn't accept responsibility and was asking people to put themselves in his shoes? I wouldn't be in his shoes at all because I wouldn't street drag in the first place. They (the WRX driver and the GTi driver) should both be arrested for excessive stupidity.

Why are 17-18 yr olds thinking about getting an Sti? For the most part, kids of this age are too immature to drive this type of high-performnce machine. I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule, but take a kid that only has driven a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic in Drivers Ed and put him directly into a car that has 190 more horsies and this can spell disaster. Whaddaya guys think?

let em get em......the more immature kids that get em the more chance i have of gettin their engine when they crash!!!!! hahaha btw not all teens are immature when it comes to driving high performance cars........

About time to stick a fork in this one. But before I do, why would I be "JELLES" of somebody who wastes money on a car instead of something more meaningful at that point in their life. I hate to make this a lecture about life, but this is what I think this has turned into. You're right, it's their money and it's their right to use it however they want. Whether they're gonna use is WISELY is the question I want to ask. Its not about "JELLESY", it's about wondering where people's priorities are at that age.

I'm turning 21 in May. My first car was a 93 Civic, which I learned to drive stick on and later modded into a 12 SOHC VTEC Turbo monster (street tires). It took a lot of time to learn how to drive with that much power and I agree that's giving an STi to such an experienced driver could mean the waste of a good car and/or a precious life. I wouldn't even think of getting an STi right now because the WRX I have now is my first AWD car.

That's the best line I've read in a while. Sure, street racing may be fun, but it's definitely dangerous.
