Sub experts, help please!
I have a question about my subwoofer. If I have my music on and I'm messing with stuff in my trunck, i hear a strange buzzy, rattly sound from inside the box. I know that it's the speeker and not somthing else in the trunk. I usually here it when the sub is hitting at low volume, (or low freq, I haven't figured it out yet.) Is this a normal sound, or is it from being underpowered, or is it possibly rolloff? Could it be that the sealed box isn't so sealed, or is the wrong size? I don't have a clue what it could be. I'll check out the specs on the system when i can, but it's a boston acoustic 12 and an alpine mono amp. Any, ideas?
Thanks

i know it might sound stupid but did you take out the sub to see if there is anything touching the back of the speaker, loose wire, extra screw bouncing around, so on. its possible that's the problem. been there. and if the box isn't sealed that will make all kinds of noise if you are close enough to hear it.

I haven't opened it, but i know there are a couple of little holes in the box from a bracket that came off. Could this be the problem, how should i fill the holes? Wood glue??

I opened it up and it turns out that the problem was a melted connection. I don't really know how this could have happened, but the problem is gone now and everything sounds much better. Thanks slamin
