The Gearsets are definitely strong take it back tell them to fix the damn thing for free like they should.

oh i should note that its probably the hub in the gear thats popping out of place. I have heard stories of the hubs being installed incorrectly with these results. Perhaps this is the case here as well.

Your mistake was going to AAMCO. I would probably recommend asking Gino about it at MPJ since he has a lot of experience with the STi RA set.
