head and amp ---DONT GO WITH ANYTHING BUT ALPINE TRUST ME HEAR THE DIF YOUR SELF...

IF your looking for a box of subs nothing is better the jl

other speakers..it depends on what music you like...
I have infinity kappa's in my car..but i am not able to install components so ..I have 4x6 in the front.. i have kappa 3 way 6x9's in the rear and i have to say i never heard a speaker put out more sound a quilty then them. they were about 250 in crutchfield but you can get them on ebay for nothing but b carefull where your buying them...as for mb q's i have heard lots not sure about any models or nothing

look into infinity not the crap they sell at circuit city but kappa's they arent that much $$$ and the quilty is great but you have to get a sub if you like a little bass. they are amazing.. i also hear the new alpine components are very good (the X series not the r or s).

DONT BUY SONY!!!! i hate everything that sony makes.. everything i have owned from them broke within a year.

Audition a couple of HU's and speakers at a store that
carries what speakers and HU's you want. If you can
bring a cd (song) your familiar with and try it to each
HU your interested with. If you can, adjust it to flat and
do this to each HU. You will see after hearing the
differences of each HU and speakers. It is up to you
which one will sound best.

Check out the alpines, they have lot's of nice features
and sound good. www.alpine-usa.com

One good sounding HU is the eclipse, they have
better sq than the alpine but less features and their
not detachable face. http://www.eclipse-web.com/

Another nice deck is the Nakamichi brand, e.g. CD-400/CD-500. They really have good sq but very few features. http://www.nakamichiusa.com/

The mb quartz are good speakers but i advice you to listen to them first. Some say that their tweeters are to harsh to the ears. But you can always lower it to -3db and adjust your eq or crossover in your HU (e.g. alpine 9813). They have titanium
tweeters thats why they are so loud. Some choose to go with
silk dome tweeters because they are smoother than titanium/metal ones. http://www.mbquart.com/2003/en_US/home/

There's lot's of good speakers brands you can check out

I installed a pair of Eclipse SE8252 5 1/4". They sound great. The tweeter is aimed upwards so the sound isn't lost in your feet. And, for about $90, you get what you paid for.

I like clarion HU's in addition to alpine, and eclipse, I just dont like the styling on ANY of their modern units. As for speakers Im using all CDT, a bit on the pricy side, and im not sure id got with them again, but very good build quality and sq.

Id look at Adire Koda's, or some focals for the fronts.
