6 1/2 in the front with spacers. or just 5 1/4 in the front.. doesnt really matter since they have to have spacers made. 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 in the back. same deal spacers

I went down to the local hardware store and picked up some nylon washers of different sizes. I ended up using some that were about half an inch in height. To fill the gap I cut up some XTC foam baffles which also helps keep the water from going directly onto the speaker.

This was in my 04 TS wagon. Not sure if the RS/WRX has the same depth in the doors.

Quick note.... the front door panels leave quite a bit of room before your tweater will hit the panel. The back ones are a tight fit to the door panel. This is of course if you are using non-component speakers.
