hey need some questions answered

i have a 91 legacy turbo and i want to put my old sound system in that i used to have in my old car..the legacy has a brand new alternator...but on my friends 03 wrx every time he turns it up to loud it would cut off...in my old mustang lx i didnt have that prob... so i was wondering if that it to be expected and if so how could i get around that without getting an after market alternator...any suggestions would be great...

thanx,

i'd say, try it and find out... if it happens, look into it, if it doesn't, cool!

post specs of the system your trying to run.

Off hand a capacitor should take care of it for you.

Circuit city has great caps pretty cheap compared to the others.

and here you can find what a capacitor is if you don't already know. http://www.caraudiobook.com/car_audi...components.htm

A cap would cause the load to even out and cause lights not to flash... if the alternator cant hold up to the power required by your system I would either recommend getting your alternator re-wrapped, or installing a dedicated battery into your system.

Hope the info helps!

the problem that ur not understanding bro, is the fact that each alternator puts out different amounts of current, take a v8 for example.. they can put out lots of current(amps) we are talking about 175 amps.. but take our subaru's for example, the alternators are just good for 80 amps...

thats where my problem came to be.. get a new battery, and make sure all grounds are good. and u should be fine..
