i also didn't fasten the solenoid with bolts to the car. instead I kind of rigged it with zippties just in case the tape let go.
a lot less tickticktick at low rpm is now heard in the cabin.

HEATSHIELDS!
not 100% but when i first bought my scoob i thought i had some serious issues and was poking the block for days trying to figuere this siht out. i finally was at ease when a) like JavaBLak said: our cars make a good amount of "normal noise" and b) i found the noise coming from the tiny tiny heatshield covering the header/cat joint. i guess i had bent it on the ground somehow and was bent just enough to rattle at certain RPMs. it was aloud ticking that grew louder withing the certain RPM ranger that it was audible. (i.e: if the noise is heard between 2-4k, the noise would get louder from 2-4k then stop suddenly.
again, not 100% sure, but worth to jack up the car, and have a buddy (or reach up and around) and give the gas pedal some light taps or until u get to the "noisy" RPM range. then take a listen.
goodluck

As for the grommet: I know his is missing. I actually told him to get one in there right away
