Advice On Route from Vegas To Napa?
Hey guys, moving from Vegas up to Napa and wanted to get some opinions on my route. I purchased my WRX from Elk Grove back in April and drove up 99 and I figured I try a different route this time. Not really looking to make it there the fastest way ( actually kinda want to take in he scenery ) so I was thinking either up to Bishop and then up and over OR head up closer to Carson and then over. I'm concerned about snow a little since I still have summer tires on. Looking to make the drive after the 1st week in December so maybe snow won't be an issue? Anyways, any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

It just started snowing here in northern CA. It'll be a toss up on whether or not the roads will be clear the week you are driving. I highly doubt you will hit chain control unless its actually snowing the day you are driving through the sierras.
A more scenic and perhaps safe route would be to go down through LA and shoot up 101. Then if you want, you can hop over to Hwy 1, right on the coast. Looks like google estimates about 11 hrs either way you choose. If you do shoot over to Hwy 1 you will add a few hours because its a two lane highway. But, if you're taking your time and looking for a scenic route, Hwy 1 will not disappoint.
