my 94 is ticking?
my 94 impreza is ticking on the driver side it gets louder as u rev it. it happen after I beat on it once or twice the problem doesn't seem to be getting any worse but it's still there any idea guys?

sounds like its a hydraulic lifter tick to me. i don't feel like going into the details, as i have before on this site. but any competent subaru mech. would be able to fix it. they may replace the lifter w/ new, or simply try to fix the bad one(s). it involves removing the cam assy. probably charge you a couple hours labor + parts.

i think i'm having the same problem with my car, when i rev it, it doesnt tick, but when i put it in gear and drive it ticks, even in gear while holding down the clutch it wouldnt tick, but once i let it go it ticks.. does your do that? let me know if you find the problem.. i might have the same problem..
