After install header and up-pipe "ticking" noise???
i had installed header and up-pipe into my wrx, when i go for a test drive......i hear ticking noise.....!! is it normal?? and i even can smell the exhaust air even inside the car...!! i am sure that it is not the piping "burning in" smell........the smell is like, you smell from you muffler...!! so, do i have a leak on header <--> uppipe, or uppipe <--> turbo ???
i did change the gesket from upppipe <--> turbo , and uppipe <--> header !!! but i didn't change the gasket from engine block to header....!!
i am sure that it is not the engine block <--> header is leak, coz i put my hand to test it...!!
any suggestion pls??

My up-pipe had a leak and if you have one there is not much of a question if you have one too. Its kinda like a loud shrilling noise. Mine would go away after it heated up so it was a small leak. As far as I understand, the ticking you are probably hearing is normal. The car should of had it already and now it is just louder. Due to the fact the thickness of the header pipes are much thinner than the factory exhaust manifold. Or at least this is what I was told by a shop I was talking to about headers.
